Johan Cruyff was a football legend unlike any other, a visionary both on and off the field. From the start of his career, he challenged conventions, refusing to conform to what others told him to wear, do, or think. In 1979, driven by that same independence and creativity, he founded his own sports brand in Barcelona: Cruyff. His ambition was to redefine sportswear. In 1988, Cruyff outfitted the Dutch Olympic team for the Seoul Games, and top players like Marco van Basten and Dennis Bergkamp wore Cruyff shoes personally approved by Johan himself.
